Beth Holland, Miss Wyoming 2002, Talks About Underage Drinking

Beth Holland is a graduate of the University of Wyoming having earned a degree in elementary/middle school education. Before becoming Miss Wyoming, Beth student-taught at Sunflower Elementary School, Gillette, Wyoming, and coached a junior high track team. She had been given a contract to teach in one of the elementary schools in Gillette, but chose instead to devote this year to visiting students in schools across Wyoming promoting a platform that is near and dear to her heart: underage drinking. Beth lost two friends in a terrible crash that killed eight University of Wyoming runners south of Laramie, Wyoming, on September 16, 2001. Though the drunken driver who killed her friends was 21 at the time, Beth wants young people to understand that the consequences of their decisions about alcohol can be far reaching.

Beth speaks from her heart in the following video.
