 Mr. Heitmann 4A

 Mrs. Gramling 4B

The main focus of fourth grade students is Wyoming history. This includes the geography of Wyoming, counties, Native Americans, mountain men, trails, the settling of Wyoming, and statehood.

In science students learn about geology, animal and plant cells, friction, sound vibrations, nutrition, and electricity. Students dissect frogs and watch Magic School Bus science movies.

At the end of the school year, students take a field trip to Devil's Tower National Monument. Devil's Tower was the first national monument in the United States. A Native American legend states that the tower was created when a giant bear tried to climb to the top to reach some girls. Geologically, Devil's Tower is the core of an extinct volcano. On the field trip students hike around Devil's Tower. They review the geology they have learned throughout the year. They get lots of exercise and go on a picnic for lunch. It is a fun-filled educational day!
