What is the Internet?
The Internet is a huge network that connects computers all over the world. |
How does the Internet work?
Just being connected is not enough. Just like people, computers must speak the same language to be able to understand one other. Computers connected to the Internet exchange instructions that allow them to “talk” to one another.

How do you move around the World Wide Web?
The millions of Web pages on the World Wide Web are all linked. Each page contains links to help you move to the different pages.
Sometimes it can be hard to find a link, but here are three clues you can use to help you:
- If you move your mouse over a link, it will change to the shape of a hand.
- Many times a link will be a different color than surrounding words, and it is underlined.
- When you click on a link, you will go to a different page.
