4105 Professional Staff - Supervision

  • All teachers will receive supervision. Supervision is a means of ascertaining how well assigned or assumed responsibilities are being discharged.

Within each school/department it is the responsibility of the Principal and their designee to observe and appraise the performance of the individual teacher in their assigned or assumed responsibilities.

The results of the observations and appraisals will be in writing. Deficiencies and/or areas for improvement will be noted, and specific direction will be given. All directions given for improvement will be carried out within reasonable expectations.

When direction for improvement is given, follow-up supervision will take place, and progress or lack of same will be noted.

All written observations and appraisals will become a part of the respective teacher's file.
