NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
Provides leadership for the District’s K-12 health programs and environment. Responsible for recommending, planning, organizing, and development of a quality health curriculum and environment for District students.
Facilitates and coordinates implementation of state and district standards and alignment of K-12 health curriculum.
Implement necessary staff development programs for the health and physical education programs.
Develops communication networks among schools and between schools and the health and physical education community.
Coordinates the orientation and in-service training of health and physical education staff.
Serves as a liaison with the health and physical education community for the establishment of partnerships.
Establishes a district-wide system for evaluating and measuring whether there is an effect on improving the health of District students.
Works in conjunction with the Wellness Coordinator to establish health management programs for district employees.
Supervises preparation of public relations materials and projects related to health and physical education programs.
Assists in the planning, maintenance prioritization, remodeling, and updating of health and physical education facilities.
Monitors current trends and best practices necessary to meet the needs of the Campbell County School District students.
Suggests development or revision of policies related to health and physical education programs.
Serves as a liaison with local, regional, and state health and physical education organizations.
Advocates for excellence in health and physical education in a comprehensive educational program for students.
Seeks and applies for health and physical education funding.
Assists in identifying and recruiting quality new health and physical education staff to the District.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Demonstrated exemplary success in one of the following areas: health and physical education recreation.
Knowledge of and experience with health and physical education recreation education.
Knowledge of budgeting, grant acquisition, and other resources.
Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral formats.
Ability to work with people of various personality types.
Ability to write clearly and concisely.
Possess sound emotional judgment.
EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
BA or BS in Health, Physical Education, or related area.
Three years of successful teaching experience in Health and Physical Education, experience at the elementary or secondary level preferred.
Administrative endorsement, experience, certification preferred.

Possess the visual acuity and stamina to work at computer monitor for ten percent of the day.
Possess the physical stamina to work in a variety of modalities.
