Aquatic Center
The Campbell County School District Aquatic Center swimming program provides a quality educational experience in the aquatic environment.
Recognizing the wide range of interest, needs and abilities represented in the student population, it will be the goal of the program to provide a wide scope of instruction to accommodate those needs and interest.
The pool obviously can be a dangerous place. But it can also be an awesome, fun place, which it is every single day for our kids.
- Phil Rehard, Aquatic Center Director
The Campbell County School District's swimming program encompasses three major objectives:
I. The swimming program will provide the skills and knowledge to enable students to swim well enough to be considered reasonably water safe. The American Red Cross Learn to Swim courses will be used as the criterion for meeting this objective.
II. The swimming program will provide the skills and knowledge to enable students to render self-help and help others in an aquatic emergency. The American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue course will be used as the criterion for meeting this objective.
III. The swimming program will provide the opportunity for students to use acquired skills for enhancement of swimming enjoyment and physical conditioning. This objective will be met through lap swimming, snorkeling, springboard diving, aquatic games and open recreational swimming.
At all levels, instruction will be aimed at promoting a safety conscious attitude while fostering an enjoyment of aquatic activities as a lifetime physical fitness alternative.
A new CCSD Aquatic Center is now in the works, with its opening set for 2025.
