Future CCHS Information

Construction on the new Campbell County High School is officially underway! Here you’ll find more information about the many elements that make up this exciting project.

Parking Updates

Each phase of the project will bring changes that impact student parking, parent pick-up and drop-off and busing. We recognize these adjustments may create challenges for students, families and staff.

To help everyone navigate the process, we are committed to sharing accurate, timely updates about any transportation changes as soon as they are available. Please keep tabs on the district’s website for the latest parking and traffic information.

We appreciate your patience, flexibility and support as we move forward with this major project and work toward the completion of the new building.

Construction Phases

  • Phase one of construction began in early March with the demolition of east parking lots on the current site. The first phase also includes the development of temporary parking, with an anticipated end date of early April.
  • Phase two of the project is slated to begin at the end of April and is expected to take about a year to complete. This portion of the project includes the creation of a new stadium and a portion of the bus loop needed for CCHS and Hillcrest Elementary.
  • In phase three, workers will demolish the current stadium and begin construction of the new building. This phase is projected to take two years.
  • The final phase of the project is slated to take about a year and includes the demolition of the old CCHS school, parking lot installation and site restoration.

More things to know

  • The new school design was developed to meet all State of Wyoming standards and guidelines.
  • The school can hold up to 1,200 students at full capacity - this is state-guided and driven by future enrollment projections.
  • The school's 'G' building, or vocational building, will be renovated and remain as part of the future site. All together, the new school will total about 220,000 square feet - about 100,000 square feet less than the current building. That square footage is allocated by the state based on future enrollment projections.
  • Much of the new school's design includes multi-functional areas. For example, the learning stairs can be used for a class, public meetings or a hang-out area for students before and after school.
  • The entire project's design is reviewed by state officials five times throughout the process to ensure value-engineering guidelines are met at or below the budget provided by the state.
