Dual-Language Immersion

Decorative image

Students in Campbell County School District have the distinct opportunity to join the district's dual-language immersion program where students are immersed in Spanish and English equally throughout the school day.

The program begins in a student's first years in elementary school and continue through their high school career. Students are typically fluent in their second language by the end of elementary school. Because of its popularity, students are selected for the program through a lottery system. They begin their education at Stocktrail Elementary School, then attend Twin Spruce Junior High and Campbell County High School.

Seal of Biliteracy

Graduating high school students can also earn a district and state Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma, if they reach certain testing benchmarks.

The seals encourage students to pursue biliteracy in school and also show future employers and universities that a student has achieved a level of fluency in multiple languages.

Students receive special graduation cords and a biliteracy medal in honor of their achievement. The website linked below provides more information about what the Seal of Biliteracy is and what doors it may open for your student.
