Fifth-graders scout out Gillette College

Fifth-graders scout out Gillette College

All of Campbell County School District’s fifth-graders, more than 600 students in total, took a trip to Gillette College last week, touring through the Tech Center, stopping in at Old Main and taking a turn around portions of the Pronghorn Center.

The field trip allowed Campbell County students to see the ins and outs of their local college, some for the first time. It opened their eyes to the programs, activities and classroom opportunities Gillette College offers.

The students saw the electrical, diesel and welding labs, dove into some human anatomy and physiology and even tested out their stethoscope skills and nursing knowledge. To wrap up their time on campus, the fifth-graders caught a Pronghorns basketball game, cheering to their hearts' content.

Thank you to all of the chaperones and school district and college workers for the time you put into making the field trip a success.
