Rozet celebrates Young Author writers

Rozet celebrates Young Author writers

Last week, Rozet Elementary celebrated literature as students, teachers and guests assembled to recognize this year’s Young Authors competitors who placed at the district level.

Young Authors is a statewide writing competition that is open to all grade levels. Students are judged by grade and category of entry: fiction, non-fiction, poetry and graphic novel. Entries are first judged at the school level, then the district level and finally, statewide.

This year, about 20 Wyoming school districts are participating in the competition and in Campbell County, 132 students received district certificates/awards for their writing πŸ–Š

In Rozet, about 180 students submitted entries at the school level. Those entries were narrowed down by judges and sent to compete alongside other CCSD schools, with about 20 Mustangs placing at the district level!

Of those, eight Mustangs took first place and had their entries submitted to compete against other district first-place winners across the state. State winners will be announced after judging is complete and the State Young Authors Celebration will take place in early May in Casper.

Congratulations, Mustangs! And a round of applause to all of the instructors who put in time teaching students across the district how to express themselves creatively through writing πŸ‘πŸΌ
