Incoming Bulls take a turn around Stocktrail Elementary
Incoming Stocktrail kindergarteners took a spin Wednesday around what will become their new home next school year!
Principal Bertine Bahige said the main goal of the kindergarten round-up is to "break the ice" for students and parents before the first day of school come August. And it seems to be working. Since beginning the event a few years ago, Bahige said he's noticed a decrease in the number of tears seen on that monumental first day.
On Wednesday, a few children still clung to their parents' hands or looked shyly at teachers but overall, many seemed thrilled about their new career as a Stocktrail Bull. They participated in art and took a look around the library. They settled in for their first brief English and Spanish lessons.
Finally, they officially signed their letter of intent to become Bulls with official certificates provided by the school's parent teacher organization. We hope everyone enjoyed their first jaunt around Stocktrail and we look forward to seeing you again this fall!
