Sunflower student wins annual Christmas pin contest
As we head toward Christmas, we'd like to recognize Heaven Shoemaker, the 2025 winner of the Mayor's Annual Christmas Pin contest!
Heaven is in Allison Granat's sixth-grade class at Sunflower Elementary and her art teacher is Jessica Aultman. Her design this year featured a buffalo all decked out in a Santa hat, complete with Christmas gifts underfoot. She said she picked the bison because of its relevance to Wyoming and then her friends helped her come up with the idea for a snow-studded background.
